That's why I wanted to create a course that cuts through the jargon and makes photography accessible to everyone. I want to share my passion and help you discover the joy of capturing beautiful moments.

Over six evenings, from 5-9pm (day, dates and venue TBC), we'll dive into the essentials. I'll guide you through understanding your camera, mastering those tricky settings like aperture and shutter speed, and exploring the magic of composition and lighting. I'm all about hands-on learning, so expect plenty of practical exercises where you can put your new skills to the test.

But the best part? I'm adding an exclusive Showcase Evening! Think of it as a relaxed, informal get-together where we can share our work, give each other constructive feedback (over coffee, of course!), and celebrate how far we've come. It's going to be a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow photography enthusiasts and build a supportive community.

I’m a qualified teacher with eight years of experience in further education, and I’m launching an exciting new photography and enrichment program designed for students from junior to secondary school.

Photography is more than just taking pictures—it’s a powerful tool for creativity, storytelling, confidence-building, and self-expression. My new program offers engaging 3-hour workshops where students will explore the art of photography using mobile phones or basic cameras, making it accessible and affordable for schools.

My Photo Walks are non-educational as a rule, but expert tips and walk location history and info will be a topic of discussion. Walks will last for up to 3 hours and normally start and end in a local cafe to discuss our plans and analyse our results. Maximum number is 10 people. If 5 or less people book or turn up on the day the walk may be cancelled.

Please ensure that you wear suitable clothing and footwear for the walk.

I offer 1 to 1 tuition on an hourly basis. As a qualified Photography Tutor I can tailor all learning to your specific needs. Tuition is on location or if you are requiring theory lessons it can be at a venue of your choice.

• 1 hour - £30

• 2 hours - £55

• 3 hours - £75

I offer group tuition at various locations. These can be anywhere in the North East of England. (You will need to make your own way to the meeting point.)

On location tuition lasts 3 hours and I normally start and end in a local cafe to discuss our learning objectives and results. I will be offering generalised learning on the walks as well as answering all questions and offering 1 to 1 instruction. Maximum number is 10 people. If 5 or less people book or turn up on the day the walk may be cancelled.
